This landmark law ensures nearly 3 million public employees—teachers, firefighters, police officers, and more—will finally receive the full Social Security benefits they’ve earned.

By eliminating the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset, the law addresses decades-old inequities that reduced benefits for those who dedicated their lives to serving our communities. Starting this year, retirees will see increased payments, bringing much-needed economic security to families across the nation.
